Location

Dampier Peninsula – Approximately two hours from Broome

What to expect

To commence your Dampier Peninsula Day tour, we will collect you from your Broome accommodation between 6.45-7am (depending on number of hotels). Heading out of Broome we drive approximately 2 hours to meet local Bardi-Jawi man, Bolo Angus.

Bolo escorts us out to his ancestral homeland at Lullumb, where the Bush meets the Sea, and the group immerses themselves in this fascinating cultural journey. Bolo’s relaxed journey takes you through the pristine and spectacular coastal country with a hands-on experience of traditional survival skills and hunting methods.

Bolo cooks up all the bush tucker that has been collected and caught during the walk and cooks it up on the open fire, whilst enjoying cultural stories around the campfire.

Following lunch, we visit Beagle Bay to see the beautiful pearl shell altar at the Sacred Heart Church built entirely by hand by local Aboriginal people and the Pallottine monks who started the Catholic mission in the late 1800s. The detailing mother of pearl, cowrie, volute and olive snail shells is absolutely gorgeous.

Our last leg of the journey takes us back into Broome and onto the stunning Cable Beach for your sunset drinks and appetisers.

Concluding around 5.45pm, our guide will drop you off to your accommodation between 6-6.15pm (depending on number of hotels).
