Immerse your senses as Belinda shares her bush medicine creations and the learnings of this beautiful journey. Learn about bush plants, medicines and their ancient healing properties. Belinda’s strength and point of difference is her knowledge of bush plants and Noongar medicines. All carefully created with local native healing properties passed down through many generations. Each bush oil and spray has been carefully crafted for healing and the practices and knowledge has been passed down for many generations.

What to expect

Healing the natural way with fire and plant medicine has proven to work for adults and children. Learn to connect with nature and accompany Kangeang / Bibblemum Noongar woman Belinda on a journey swapping contemporary man made medicines to more organic natural products that can be found in our local bush. During this one hour hands on session learn how to identify and collect plants and flowers in a culturally appropriate and sustainable way. Belinda will share how to make everyday products used for skin care and healing properties for cuts, grazes, burns and for general health and well-being. Belinda will explain that by looking after the bush, the bush will look after you.

Djirrily Dreaming provides safe, hands on, and interactive activities that enable you to gain insight into native bush plants and flowers. You’ll learn how these plants are used as remedies for common ailments. Please keep in mind that the plants and flowers used in this experience are conditional due to changes in seasonal availability. Thus, the materials used in this experience are decided by mother nature herself. If you respect and care for your backyard bushland, your bushland will care for you in return.

Djirrily Dreaming is a Perth-based Aboriginal owned tour and experience company, operating around the metropolitan area since 2018. Djirrily Dreaming is owned and operated by sole trader Belinda Cox. Belinda is a proud Kangeang / Bibblemum Noongar woman (Yorga), and her strength and point of difference is her knowledge of bush plants and Noongar medicines. Experience Noongar Dreaming stories, songs, ancient tools, mouth-watering gourmet food and discover the story of ancient Aboriginal Australia and the Noongar Nation.

Belinda has extensive cultural knowledge and has spent over 20 years of her life educating and sharing Aboriginal culture through her experiences and workshops. Her experiences are interactive, hands on, fun and informative.

During your experience you will explore the healing properties of these bush medicines using homemade wild crafted essential oils, balms, mis sprays and skin care. All carefully created with local native healing properties passed down through many generations.

Belinda’s passion has enabled her to work extensively with the community and Yorga groups sharing empowering smoking ceremonies and stories.

Djirrily Dreaming offers a suite of experiences along with secondary and tertiary school-based learning activities which align with the WA curriculum, designed and delivered to meet overarching learning outcomes of each year group.

Belinda also has a natural flair for creating and has her own retail products including essential oils infused with native plant oils which cleanse, enrich and invigorate energy and her stunning smoking smudge sticks.
