Experience Noongar culture with Belinda Cox, a proud Kangeang / Bibblemum Noongar woman (Yorga), in Perth, Western Australia. Kura Kura the Nyitting otherwise known as the ‘cold time’ is the formation of Dreamtime, when the earth was created by a huge rainbow serpent known as the Wagual. Belinda will share stories of the Wagual on how it moved its huge body pushing the sky upwards, away from the ground and how the spirits of creation came into being.

Belinda will share her ancestors' stories of creation told for over 80 thousand years. Stories steeped in culture and tradition and as old and as human history itself. Belinda brings years of experience delivering the authentic fire lighting practices, protocols and healing practices and shares her extensive cultural knowledge. With over 20 years of her life educating and sharing authentic Aboriginal experiences through her tours and workshops you will experience her charismatic nature with lots of interactive, hands-on, fun and sharing of culture.

What to expect

Experience Noongar ways of life, starting with a fire ceremony. Your guide Belinda brings years of experience delivering the authentic fire lighting practices, protocols and will deepen your knowledge with her healing knowledge. Quieting your mind and focusing on the fire is one of the most powerful ways to heal your mind, body and soul. Belinda creates a learning circle as shown by elders on country and shares the majestic dreamtime stories about the spirit of creation and the serpent spirit – known as the Wagual.

After opening the learning circle Bel invites participants to join her in singing and tapping through the ‘Celebration Song’. You will learn of the Noongar Nations creation story and experience what the oldest continuous culture in human history has to offer.

What is included

This is a one hour experience. This experience runs on demand, with a minimum group booking of 5 adults. Please enquire now to find a date that suits you and your group.

It is recommended to have shoes taken off during the activities to heighten the experience. Wearing comfortable clothes is highly advisable.

Djirrily Dreaming is a Perth-based Aboriginal owned tour and experience company, operating around the metropolitan area since 2018. Djirrily Dreaming is owned and operated by sole trader Belinda Cox. Belinda is a proud Kangeang / Bibblemum Noongar woman (Yorga), and her strength and point of difference is her knowledge of bush plants and Noongar medicines. Experience Noongar Dreaming stories, songs, ancient tools, mouth-watering gourmet food and discover the story of ancient Aboriginal Australia and the Noongar Nation.

Belinda has extensive cultural knowledge and has spent over 20 years of her life educating and sharing Aboriginal culture through her experiences and workshops. Her experiences are interactive, hands on, fun and informative.

During your experience you will explore the healing properties of these bush medicines using homemade wild crafted essential oils, balms, mis sprays and skin care. All carefully created with local native healing properties passed down through many generations.

Belinda’s passion has enabled her to work extensively with the community and Yorga groups sharing empowering smoking ceremonies and stories.

Djirrily Dreaming offers a suite of experiences along with secondary and tertiary school-based learning activities which align with the WA curriculum, designed and delivered to meet overarching learning outcomes of each year group.

Belinda also has a natural flair for creating and has her own retail products including essential oils infused with native plant oils which cleanse, enrich and invigorate energy and her stunning smoking smudge sticks.
